Rahul Singh Bhadoriya grew up in a home where every corner told a story — a hand-carved wooden almirah his grandfather had brought home decades ago, copper vessels that shone brighter every year, a low takhat where the whole family would gather in the evenings. The artisans he remembered were still there in India's towns and villages, but they were slowly being priced out of the world they had built.

That was the spark. Rahul spent the next many months travelling — to Saharanpur for wood, to Moradabad for metal, to Jaipur and Jodhpur for finishing, to small workshops he found only through word of mouth. He met craftsmen who could still hand-carve a headboard from a single block of sheesham, and potters who could throw a lamp base on a wheel in under two minutes.
